The auction has about 400 lots and will comprise some of Mrs Riete Alkema’s collection of lace and some from other vendors, to include laces from the late 16th c to early 20th c.
A quantity of early bobbin and needle lace, some Dutch edgings and Milanese borders from the 17th c including some with figures, a rare gentleman’s collar and a few deep edgings of Venise gros Point needle lace including one with a double headed eagle, lappets, bonnet backs and edgings from the 18th c, some good borders and handkerchiefs of 19th c, Alençon, Point de Gaze, Chantilly bobbin lace including a few from Lefebure and the Cie des Indes with the original boxes, and as always, some damask and lace household linen such as tablecloth, napkins, curtains, etc….

The sale will start at 11 AM local time on Friday March 13th, until noon, commencing with lots #1 to 96 which includes the household linens and ladies’ and childrens’ costume accessories.
The afternoon session, comprising the lace lots #97 to 409, will be from 2.00 to 6:00 PM local time.
