ICOM Costume Conference 2018 in Utrecht

Van 10 t/m 15 juni vindt de ICOM Costume Conference plaats met als thema Fashion & Innovation, vanuit het Centraal Museum in Utrecht, waar dan een tentoonstelling over het werk van couturier Jan Taminiau te zien is. Ook het Textielmuseum Tilburg wordt bezocht en in Amsterdam het Rijksmuseum, het Tassenmuseum, Museum Willet Holthuyzen, Museum Van Loon en tenslotte de Expositie van Modemuze in OBA.

The Annual Meeting will be hosted by the Centraal Museum in Utrecht, right in the center of The Netherlands. The conference forms part of the fashion exhibition Jan Taminiau, on display during the conference. The Meeting shall take place from 10-15 June, starting at the Centraal Museum in “quaint and quirky” Utrecht and visiting other Dutch cities as well.

The program in short is as following:
Sunday 10 June – Student Day + Registration at Paushuize in Utrecht Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday – Lectures and side program in Utrecht (Centraal Museum).
Thursday 14 June – TextielMuseum Tilburg and Farewell Dinner.
Friday 15 June – Special program in Amsterdam.

Post-conference tour: Saturday till Tuesday, program to be announced soon.

With the theme Fashion & Innovation we hope to have a varied program, touching new developments as well as a historic point of view: it can be about the invention of the knitting machine as well as Virtual Reality fashion design. We would like to include revolutionary new exhibition concepts as well.
